One week before I depart
Had my innoculations (5 in all) with the biggest needles ever but was so busy chatting did not really feel any pain. Either the needles were sharp or my skin has few nerves. Was warned of after-effects but a little numbness on one side for a couple hours the following morning was the most discomfort I experienced.
Printed off the 500+ pages of pre-reading material. Job now appears more difficult than I had anticipated.
Bought all my anti bug stuff - insect repellent for my skin, for my room, etc. Travel sickness tablets also bought - ones which make me sleep and ones which are not quite as effective but keep me awake.
Still reading up on Weather in Gaborone to decide what to pack in the suitcase. Appears pretty cool at night but not sure if I will step outside at night!!!!
Got my remit or terms of reference from SQA
Advise on Development of Descriptors for Advanced Diploma in DTP, Dynamic Web Design, Authoring, Animation, Video and Audio
In Gaborone for 2 weeks (10 working days).
Staying at Met Court Inn, Gaborone
Now skimmed through the 500 pages and decided what is priority reading and required comprehension.
Qualification System appears sensible and practical.
Received a Medical Kit via the post from Sandy with Blood Transfusion Kit, syringes, etc (for use in Aids ridden countries) Hopefully not require it for myself or anyone else I come into contact with.
